When you switch to Play mode the last picture captured is displayed full screen with no overlay information. You can enter Play mode by dialing it in on the Mode Dial or by pressing the center of the 4-way controller.

Press the DISPLAY button to bring up this screen of exposure information.

Press the DISPLAY button again to bring up the exposure histogram.

While viewing an image full screen, you can move the zoom control lever to the telephoto position and magnify an image in three steps (2X, 4X and 8X). You can move around the image using the 4-way selector to examine the picture for color, focus, etc.

The PLAY menu has options for MULTI (thumbnail index mode), POST RECORDING (add an audio memo), PROTECT images against accidental deletion, ERASE single image, ERASE MULTIPLE images, RESIZE, ROTATE, AUTO PLAY (slideshow), DPOF (printing info), PICTBRIDGE (direct-printing with PictBridge printers).

Selecting the MULTI option displays the 6-thumbnail per page view.

The RESIZE option lets you make a smaller 320x240 or 160x120 size image for email purposes.

The PICTBRIDGE option lets you print directly to any PictBridge compatible printer using the camera's regular USB cable.

While playing a movie a VCR-like control bar is displayed on the bottom of the screen, the volume is adjusted using the Up and Down buttons.

Press the DISPLAY button to show the movie file information.
