When you half-press the shutter to achieve the focus and exposure lock, the
AF targets will turn red and show the area it is focusing on. The aperture,
shutter speed, exposure compensation, flash power, and ISO settings will also
be displayed across the bottom. If the focus does not lock there will be a
red "AF" in the upper right hand corner to indicate focus failure.
Rotate the Mode Dial to select one of the record modes: Video, Auto,
SCN(shown below), Program AE, Aperture priority, Shutter priority, Manual or
Custom.
When using the SCN mode found on the Mode Dial, you can choose from 16 pre-programmed
scene modes to achieve the proper exposure for select shooting
conditions.
This screen shows the various aperture settings (F2.8-F8 wide, F4.8-F8 tele)available in the Aperture
priority mode. You change aperture values by pressing the Jog Dial in, then
rotating it. You can also override the metering ±2.0EV, Flash power
±1EV, and select the ISO speed.
This screen shows various shutter speed settings (64 to 1/1000 sec. manual, 1/8 - 1/1400 auto) available in the Shutter
priority mode. You also change the shutter speed value using the Jog Dial.
MENU options in P/A/S/M/C record modes:
Picture Size - 6.1MP, 5.4MP(3:2), 4.0MP, 3.1MP, 1.7MP Compression - Standard or Fine White Balance - Auto, Daylight, Tungsten or Fluorescent Exposure Bracketing Interval - ±0.3EV, ±0.7EV, ±1.0EV Exposure Metering - Multi-Pattern, Center-weighted, Center Spot Focus Zone - Multi-zone, Center-zone, Selectable-zone (center, left, or right) AF Control - Continuous AF, Single AF, Accessory Lens AF Color Mode - High Color, Natural Color, Low Color, B&W or Sepia Sharpness - High, Normal, Low Reset - Reset to default Set Album(Still) - On or Off (Pre-select album names before shooting) Image Storage - Auto (selects SD card if inserted or uses internal) or Internal Memory Setup Menu - Enter SETUP menu
You can record 320 x 240 motion video at 15fps with audio. The length
of the movies is dependant on available space on your memory card. You can select a
maximum clip length of 5, 15 or 30 seconds if desired. The optical zoom can be preset
before recording but not during.
