

![]() AUTO record mode screen display. The ISO icon indicates that the camera has increased the sensitivity to offset lower lighting conditions. The "3M*" icon indicates the image resolution is 2016x1512 at Fine quality. Flash is set to Auto Red-Eye and there's 143 pictures remaining at the current image size/quality setting.
In AUTO mode you can only change the image quality or size, flash mode,
exposure compensation. You can also enable macro focus or the selftimer option.
AUTO is the point-n-shoot mode.

Manual record mode. Similar to AUTO but there are a lot more exposure
options available, see the menus below.

The AF Area can be set for Automatic (default) where it uses one of five AF points
depending on the location of the subject -- or you can use the Manual AF point option
and select any one of nine AF points using the 4-way selector.

The exposure compensation, flash mode, macro focus and selftimer options are set
on-screen by pressing the appropriate button and then using the onscreen prompts shown above.

Scene Mode Portrait setting shown here. Flash is set to red-eye reduction
for the best "people" pictures. Other settings are also preset for the optimum
exposure for the selected scene mode. A list of all scene modes is below.

Audio Recording - In play mode you can attach audio memos to still images. These
memos can be up to 15 seconds in length. You can record over existing memos if desired.

When the lens is turned 90° backwards for self-portraits the screen display is
automatically flipped upside down and the preview is in a smaller window. Note that
the camera still captures a full-size image .
