The AUTO shooting mode is the simple, point-n-shoot user mode. Icons for Auto flash, image size (note that this is a screen shot from the L4v, the L3v's highest resolution is 2048x1536), image quality "N"ormal, there's space remaining for 27 pictures. When you press the MENU button, the popup menu is displayed across the bottom of the screen.

MOVIE mode, the camera can also record motion video with audio at
320 x 240 or 160 x 120 resolution. You can capture up to 30 seconds at
320 x 240 or up to 120 seconds at 160 x 120 resolution.
Play mode shows the last image capture full screen. Pressing the
DISPlay button will overlay the information shown here: The folder and
file name, file size, image quality, image size, shutter speed, aperture,
exposure compensation, DPOF, date and time.
Play Multi mode is displayed by selecting it from the popup menu. Six thumbnail images per page are shown and you can quickly search through the stored images. To display the selected image full screen just press the 4-way control in the center.
Menu options for Multi/Single, record Sound memo, Protect, Erase,
Erase All, Resize, Rotate, Auto Play and Print.
Movies can be played back in-camera, playback is controlled by the 4-way
selector. The volume of the internal speaker can also be adjusted.
