Record Modes & Screens

(Excuse the less than perfect quality of these screen captures, the DMC-FZ1 does not output video except in Playback mode. These screens and menus can be displayed on either the EVF or LCD.)

Flash is set to Auto, white balance is manual, ISO is set to 100, image size is 1600x1200, Fine quaity, battery is fully charged, the audio option is enabled, there's 244 pictures remaining, spot exposure metering is on. The time and date is displayed for a few seconds when you first turn the camera on or change modes.

As we already listed on the previous page, the DMC-FZ1 has numerous exposure modes that are selected from the Mode Dial: Record, Simple, Macro, Portrait, Sports, Panning, Night Portrait and Movie.

When you half-press the shutter release it starts the auto focus (default) and if it locks you'll get the "focus OK" green dot icon. The red "camera shake" icon warns you of slow shutter speeds. The bottom status line shows the aperture and shutter speed and any exposure compensation if used.

Pressing the 4-way selector "Down" enters the Quick Review mode so that you can examine previously captured images. It returns back to record mode after a few seconds if no button is pushed.
