(Excuse the less than perfect quality of these screen captures, the DMC-FZ1 does not
output video except in Playback mode. These screens and menus can be displayed on
either the EVF or LCD.)

The time and date is displayed for a few seconds when you first turn the camera on or change modes.
As we already listed on the previous page, the DMC-FZ1 has numerous exposure modes that
are selected from the Mode Dial: Record, Simple, Macro, Portrait, Sports, Panning, Night
Portrait and Movie.

When you half-press the shutter release it starts the auto focus (default) and if it
locks you'll get the "focus OK" green dot icon. The red "camera shake" icon warns you
of slow shutter speeds. The bottom status line shows the aperture and shutter speed
and any exposure compensation if used.

Pressing the 4-way selector "Down" enters the Quick Review mode so that you can examine
previously captured images. It returns back to record mode after a few seconds if no
button is pushed.

Auto exposure bracketing can be enabled, the camera captures three images and alters
the exposure automatically. Adjustable for ±1/3, 2/3 or 1.0EV steps.
![]() The Movie mode captures motion JPEG at 320 x 240 pixels at 10 frames per second with audio. The length of capture is limited only by the amount of available memory. It consumes about 10MB per minute. Movie mode recording options:
