The Aqua 2100 is a stylish looking and sporty yellow camera but it isn't waterproof unless it is in its underwater housing. Some folks may be mislead by the labeling on the front that says "Water Proof Digital Camera."  The camera itself is not waterproof.

The focal length of the lens is not specified but appears to be somewhere around the 35mm equivalent of a 40-43mm lens. This is a fixed-focus optic with a focusing range of 60mm to infinity, the switch on the side selects the Macro or Normal modes.

The built in flash offers Auto, Fill or Off modes. Flash range is 3 to 7 ft. with an angle of coverage of 55 degrees.

...to save precious battery power you can use the optical eyelevel finder. This viewfinder has approx. 82% coverage. It has no dioptric adjustment. The LED indicates the flash status.

The Mode Dial on top lets you select Movie, Playback, Automatic or Still image modes. The only other thing up here is the shutter release button.

Most of the controls are on the back, starting in the upper left is the Monitor button that turns the color LCD on/off. In playback mode it toggles fullscreen and index display modes. Upper right is the Power on/off button. The 4-way selector lets you navigate menus when they're active and select images in playback mode. In record mode you press Up or Down for the digital zoom, press Right to toggle drive mode between single or continuous, press Left for self-timer. The MENU button calls up the onscreen menu system. The OK button accepts menu selections and is also used to select Flash modes. Over to theright is the built-in speaker.

All of the controls are operable when in the housing except for the Monitor button. I don't understand why there isn't a button for the Monitor - it would make perfect sense to turn it off when in the housing. It's much easier to frame your pictures with the sports finder on the top, the optical viewfinder and the color LCD are pretty much useless under water.

The I/O ports: The DC IN jack is for the optional AC power adapter. There's a USB 1.1 port to connect to the computer for image download. The Video Out lets you connect to a TV set with the supplied cable.

The Aqua 2100 is equipped with 8MB of internal memory for image and movie storage and can be expanded using the SD card slot.

The Aqua 2100 is powered by two standard AA-type batteries, alkaline, NiMH or lithium cells. We always recommend the use of high-capacity NiMH rechargeable cells. You don't want to run out of battery power when you're underwater so use the best batteries possible.

The underwater housing is a high quality design with a secure latch and O-ring around the rear half. There is an extra O-ring in the package and a tube of O-ring grease. The housing is rated waterproof to 30 meters (100 feet).
