FinePix 2650

The FinePix 2650 employs a Fujinon 3x optical zoom lens, it's equivalent to 38-114mm on a 35mm camera. When the camera is powered down the lens retracts inside the camera and is covered by a sliding lens protector.

The digital zoom is 2.5x/1.25x. The focusing range in Normal AF is from 2.6ft to Infinity.
When in Macro mode it covers from 0.3 to 2.6 ft.

The eyelevel optical real-image zoom viewfinder has a field of view of approx. 80% of the captured image and has no diopter adjustment. The LED indicates focus lock or power status.

The flash has an effective range in wide angle of 0.6ft to 11.5ft and in Telephoto a range of 2.6ft to 9.8 ft. Flash modes available are: Auto, Red-eye reduction, Forced flash, Suppressed flash or Slow syncro.

Controls on top are the Power switch and the shutter release with the Mode Dial around it with positions for Record, Play and Movie.

Controls on the back: The zoom lens control (upper right) with the Left and Right navigation buttons on the sides. The zoom control also serves as the Up and Down navigation buttons when accessing menu screens. In play mode the zoom controls serve as the image enlargement controls to zoom in or out.

The DISPlay button in Record selects the LCD monitor ON/OFF or selects the four framing grid lines. In Playback the DISPlay button toggles between Text display ON/OFF and Index thumbnail mode. The MENU/OK button toggles the Menu on/off . While ON, the menu selections are navigated with the 4-way and the OK button makes selections. The BACK basically stops any procedure midway through.

On the side is the USB 1.1 port for downloading to the computer. The 3v DC INput jack is for an optional AC power adapter. There is no video out feature.

The FinePix 2650 is equipped with a xD-Picture card slot and is supplied with a 16MB xD card. It's compatible with any xD card from 16MB to 128MB. The battery is also located in this compartment.

Power is supplied by a pair of AA batteries, alkaline, NiMH or lithium type may be used.
