The Record screen is clear of all icons so it makes a perfect visual viewfinder when used in the u/w housing.

Above water in the LAND mode, you can press the OK button to enable the 2X digital zoom option when in the 1280 x 960 mode only. Digital zoom is not like real optical zoom, it electronically crops the central 50% of the frame. This could also be done (better) later in software.

Pressing the MENU button in Record mode brings up the onscreen menu of available options:

    LCD BRIGHTNESS - Adjust the intensity of the LCD backlight

    QUICKVIEW - Immediate image review for 3 secs. after capture

    WHITE BALANCE - Auto, Sunny, Shade, Fluorescent, Tungsten

    EV COMPENSATION - Override metering -1.8 to +1.8 in 0.3EV steps

Playback image with the information display enabled. It shows the image size, quality, image #, time and date.

Pressing the Monitor button cycles through the play screen, play + info screen and the 3x3 thumbnail index mode.

Pressing the OK button enlarges the image 2x and 4x, you can scroll in a "Z" pattern using the Up and Down buttons.

Pressing the MENU button in Playback mode brings up the onscreen menu of available options:

    LCD BRIGHTNESS - Adjust the intensity of the LCD backlight

    SLIDE SHOW - Automated playback mode, 2-10 sec. settable delay

    COPY TO CF CARD - Copy images from internal memory to CF card

    DPOF - Set the DPOF printing options

Placing the Mode Dial in the LAND & SEA position brings up the onscreen setup menu of available options:

    LAND/SEA/EXT.FLASH - Set the desired exposure mode:

      LAND - Camera is optimized for use above the water, in or out of the u/w case

      SEA - Camera is optimizd for use underwater. Special color balancing insures the best possible u/w photos

      EXT. FLASH - If using the camera underwater with one or two of the optional external flash units.

    DATE/TIME - Set the internal clock

    LANGUAGE - Set the menu language

    SOUND - Turn camera beeps on or off

    FORMAT MEDIA - Format internal memory or CF card

    VIDEO MODE - Select video output, NTSC or PAL format.
