The very uncluttered screen display when AUTO is selected. This is the "anybody can use
it" automatic exposure mode. Most settings are locked into the best ones needed
for taking pictures under normal conditions.
![]() Record mode screen showing onscreen data. Exposure mode is in the upper left corner, "A" indicates Aperture Priority, "P" for Program AE mode, "S" for Shutter Priority or "M" for Manual record mode.
The aperture is F3.4 and the shutter speed is 1/50 sec. The upper right corner is the EV
exposure compensation factor (0.0). The flash is set to red-eye reduction mode and spot
metering is selected. The white brackets in the center indicate the focus area. The ISO
is manually locked at ISO 80 and the image size is SHQ (2560 x 1920.) The green "45"
indicates the number of pictures remaining at the current size and quality setting. The
black rectangle next to the pictures remaining number shows the status of the buffer, it
fills and empties as you shoot pictures.

Manual exposure mode where you set both the shutter speed and aperture to the desired
values. The exposure index is displayed (-1.0) continuously so you adjust the controls
to achieve as close to 0.0 as possible.

This is the screen display when in the My Mode exposure mode. This allows you to build
your own pre-programmed mode with all your favorite settings and memorizes them for easy
recall via the Mode Dial.
![]() The recording screen in the Movie mode. The green 387" indicates that there is enough memory on the card to record a total of 387 seconds of video.
The C-50 Zoom can record up to 16 seconds of HQ (320x240 pixel) resolution QuickTime
motion JPEG without audio at 15 frames per second. You can record up to 70 seconds of SQ
(160x120 pixel) resolution motion JPEG without audio at 15fps. The optical zoom is
not useable in movie mode.
![]() Pressing the MENU button while in any of the still image record modes will bring this shortcut menu overlay on the screen. From here you can quickly jump to the DRIVE modes, image size/quality or white balance settings.
