
![]() The C-700 Ultra Zoom features an Olympus 5.9mm 59mm (38-380mm 35mm equivalent) f2.8/3.5 f8 lens with 27x digital zoom (10x optical, 2.7x digital). It's important to note that this 10x zoom lens is NOT the same as the one found on the Olympus C-2100 Ultra Zoom, that lens incorporates an image stabilization system. The C-700UZ's lens does is not stabilized.
The iESP multi pattern TTL autofocus system works from 23" to infinity in standard
mode or from 4" to 23" in Macro mode both in normal
or Spot AF mode. Manual focus (by gauge) is settable from 4" to infinity.

The Olympus FL-40 external flash can be attached and controlled via the dedicated TTL
connector on the side.

The 4-way selector is used to navigate the menus, change the shutter speed, aperture
or exposure compensation values in record, in play mode it lets you select images
for display. The button on the bottom controls the color LCD display, it is also used
to quickly go from record to play mode for reviewing pictures. The OK button
calls up the onscreen menus (see next 2 pages), accepts menu selections and enables the
manual focus option.

The three buttons across the back are: DRIVE mode (single, sequential, sequential AF,
selftimer or AE Bracket) it also serves as the Delete button during play mode. In the
center is the Macro / Spot metering button, it functions as the Print Order button in
play mode. On the right is the Flash mode button that doubles as the Protect / Unprotect
button in playback.
DC IN for optional AC power supply A/V OUT for connection to television set. Video format is NTSC (PAL in European models) with a monoraul audio output. High-speed USB port for image downloads to the host computer
Dedicated TTL flash connector for FL-40 flash.
![]() Images and sound files are stored on 3.3v SmartMedia cards. The camera comes with a 8MB card and is compatible with all capacities up to the new 128MB cards. The cards must be physically pulled out, it does not employ any type of ejector mechanism.
