Here's the LCD display during record mode. The live histogram display feature is a nice touch and has only been seen on one other camera, the Toshiba PDR-M70. All of the screen icons and information are described in detail below.

The QV3EX has a fixed focal length (non-zoom) lens so it features a rather extensive 12-step digital zoom with up to 3.2x magnificaton. Digital zoom simply enlarges the central portion of the screen, something which can be done better, later using software I might add - nothing beats a real, optical zoom lens.

Screen display with the exposure compensation engaged all the way to -2EV, it is user settable for +/- 2EV in 1/3EV steps. The red (and white) arrows along the bottom indicate the selected EV override value.

Up to 30 secs of 320 x 240 motion sequences can be recorded in AVI (Open DML Motion JPEG) format. It is silent because the camera has no microphone.

The record options menu can be accessed in one of two different ways. Shown here is the "Basic" version that lets you change the most common options quickly.

By pressing the "DISP" button you can toggle between the Basic and Detail versions of the menu system. Shown here are the basic sub-menu screens of the Detail menu, from here you can access every user-configurable parameter available.
