When you half-press the shutter button the exposure is calculated and the focus is set. Once this has been accomplished the camera displays the shutter speed and aperture settings.

When in the Manual record mode you get an onscreen selection of camera options across the bottom. See below...

Mode menu options are Set-Up (Auto power off, Beep, Date/Time, Frame No.) File Size/Quality (2400x1800 [Fine, Normal, Basic], 1280x960 [Fine, Normal], 640x480 [normal]), Manual or Auto recording mode).

There are three types of Guideline overlays available to help you frame your subject in landscape or portrait orientation. The guidelines are selected by pressing the DISP button and then toggling the different guidelines with the right or left button.

The screen display when in Movie recording mode. You can record up to 80 seconds of video with audio in 320 x 240 resolution at 10 frames per second.

Recording MP3 Files

For Windows users the RealJukebox Plus software is included to allow you to copy tracks from your audio CD's and turn them into MP3 files to be uploaded to the camera via the USB port. Macintosh users will install the MacMP3 Limited Edition software.

The MP3 files are turned into SVQ files and are "registered" before they are transfered. You can only use SmartMedia cards that have the letters "ID" next to capacity label on the front side.

Beyond this I know nothing about MP3 audio files, sorry, it's not my interest.
