
![]() The business end of the Mavica CD-1000 has a 10X optical f=6.0-60mm (39-390mm 35mm equivalent) zoom lens that can be further enhanced to 20X with the digital zoom feature. It is quite fast with a F2.8 maximum aperture. The lens may be manually focused by rotating the ring on the end of the barrel. Filters and other add-ons can be attached via the 52mm threads.
Using their many years of video camera experience, Sony has equipped this monster
lens with their patented SteadyShot digital image stabilization technology. This
helps you get the sharpest, blur-free images even when zoomed out to the maximum
telephoto position.

The CD1000 features an intelligent, popup flash unit with automatic and redeye
reduction modes. There's also a dedicated connector and shoe mount for the
optional (TTL-controlled) HVL-F1000 flash unit.

Changing operating modes from Movie to Still to Play is as simple as flipping the
mode switch up on the top.

Located on the front just below the shutter release is the zoom lens control lever.

As mentioned earlier, the CD1000 is the first Mavica to feature a USB
port for image downloading to the computer.
![]() Powered by the famous Sony InfoLITHIUM rechargeable 7.2v "battery with a brain" -- it tells you on the LCD exactly how many minutes of runtime is left. The CD-1000 comes with the high capacity NP-F550 battery.
The CD-1000 does not need an external charger, it's built in and comes with
a combination battery charger and AC power adapter.
